6-Story Mixed-use Building on Warren Street

This 6-story mixed-use building with cellar is located at Warren Street Manhattan. It has a restaurant at first level and 5 luxury apartments at upper levels.  This building is a  renovation of a 100+ year old warehouse with 2 floors of addition on top.  New elevator and stairs were introduced to satisfy new code requirements.  To develop a scheme that fall within owner’s construction budget, the addition floors were made of cold-formed metal joist with plywood subfloor, which will imposed minimum additional load on existing footing to avoid expensive foundation work.
